I guess I need normal landing distance chart more than short field landing chart. I mentioned it to one of the product design guys about a year ago and got c172a sly smile and “huh, good idea. I understand you can follow the POH, but just curious on what you use? I typical burn a little less fuel when I actually do the flight but I use a little higher numbers in the planning just to have a margin of error.
Welcome to Reddit, the front page of the internet. But in this specific case, the figure is given with no wind, so if you have a headwind on takeoff then you should need much less distance. You only have to be accurate enough for whatever your own scenarios are. Be nice to each other.

Conservative distances can be established by reading the chart at the next pih value for weight, altitude and temperature. I wonder how one can measure takeoff distance themselves. Unfortunately it doesn’t just yet.

So that would give c1722s reasonable safety margin given that the aircraft fully fueled and with 1 occupant will be lighter and take off faster, not considering actual PA and wind factors?
